I hope that you and your family were able to spend some quality time together and enjoyed some fun and relaxation over the summer break. My name is Mr. Bateman, and I am the Principal at Little Mountain Elementary. Mrs. Locke our Vice Principal. We are both looking forward to being part of the Little Mountain Learning Community for another year. We are very excited to welcome everyone next week for an exciting year at Little Mountain! The staff are looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces next week and they have been busy preparing for our opening. We are ready for an incredible year! School Start Up

What Happens on Tuesday-Friday?

Tuesday, September 8:

Grades 1-5 will be in session from 8:24-10:24 - students do not need to bring anything today.

  • Returning LME students will line up at the same door they did last year in their last year’s class line ups. Once the warning bell rings at 8:20 am, last year's teacher will head out to pick the students up. Returning LME Students will be dismissed out the same doors as last year. Please make sure you have a meeting spot outside (back playground) to meet your child.
  • New LME students will go to the library door. Please see signs directing to the outside door to the library or ask a nearby staff member. New LME students will be dismissed from the outside Library door.

Wednesday, September 9:

Grades 1-5 will be in session from 8:24am - 2:24pm - Students should now start bringing a snack for recess and their lunch to school. 

  • Returning LME students Gr. 2-5 will meet at the grade group cones on the back field and teachers will take attendance.
    • Returning students going into GRADE 1 (Kindergarten last year) are to line up at their last year’s Kindergarten teacher’s door. K Teachers will be taking students to the grade one group cone. 
  • New LME students will go to the library door. All students will be placed with grade level peers in a classroom in the morning and classes will be doing rotations.
  • Dismissal: All Students will be dismissed from grade group cones at the back field.

Thursday, September 10:

Grades 1-5 will be in session from 8:24am - 2:24pm

  • All Students will line up with their grade group cones they were dismissed from yesterday. Teachers will come out, take attendance, and collect students from the grade group cones when the bell rings. 
  • Dismissal: All Students will be dismissed from grade group cones at the back field.

Friday, September 11th:

Half of the Kindergarten students will be in session from 8:20-9:50 (Group 1) or 10:30-12:00 (Group 2). Please refer to the information package that was mailed out. 

Grades 1-5 will be in session from 8:24am - 2:24pm

  • All Students will line up with their grade group cones they were dismissed from yesterday. Teachers will come out, take attendance, and collect students from the grade group cones when the bell rings. 

We are hoping the district gives us the “green light” to set classes on Friday.\

  • Students will be dismissed from the grade group cones at the end of the day. Teachers will communicate with students where their new classroom line up and dismissal spot will be on Monday. Teachers and/or the school will also communicate with families by Monday to confirm their child’s teacher.

 

Classes for the 2026/2027 Year

Creating well-balanced classes is very important at LME. In the first week of school, we will be checking our attendance very carefully and submitting our school organization into the district. It is our aim to have classes formed as quickly as possible. During the first week of school, our students will be reviewing our school code of conduct, which includes our school PBS Matrix and behavioural expectations in all school settings.
