June 1st and June 8th are the Mini-Meets at the Sardis Secondary Track @ 3:30pm.
Mini-Meets: These are informal, after-school track meets for athletes to try out events. They are OPTIONAL opportunities for athletes to compete without the pressure to qualify. In other words, any number of boys or girls of the same grade may represent Little Mountain Elementary in any event. All athletes can participate all events for the Mini-Meets. There are no ribbons awarded on these mini-meet days.
Parents/Guardians are responsible for getting their child to and from the track for Mini Meets. Any teachers or coachs in attendance will be helping run events and therefore unable to provide supervision. Parents must be in attandence to supervise their child and help them locate their event around the track.
- Wednesday, June 1st Mini-Meet: 100m, 400m, 1500m, Boys High Jump, Girls Long Jump, Boys Ball Throw, Girls Shot Put
- Wednesday, June 8th Mini-Meet: 200m, 800m, Relays, Girls High Jump, Boys Long Jump, Girls Ball Throw, Boys Shot Put
District Track and Field Meet - Thursday, June 16th. This is the full-day, formal track meet where athletes must pre-qualify at school during lunchtime practices. Students selected will be bringing home an additional form in the coming weeks.
**Therefore….it is very important that all athletes attend every practice and let their coaches know which events they would like to try to qualify for.**
- For track/running events, those are limited to two boys and two girls for each of the following years of birth: 2011, 2012 & 2013.
- For throwing/jumping events, those are limited to one boy and one girl for each of the age categories.
- Competitors may not enter more than three individual events, in only one age class.
- Ribbons will be awarded for 1st to 8th place for each event.
Transportation: **There will be a bus providing transportation to the District Track Meet, however, Parents/Guardians MUST pick up their child from the event.**
